I recently did a re-key for a client that was concerned about the security of her family in their home. After asking a few questions I requested her permission to look around and see if anything popped out that could be of concern. Over 50% of the windows in her home were not locked. Look closely at the picture on the left. At first glance it appears to be locked but it wasn't. Compare with the picture on the right. Make sure your windows are locked properly.
